The Olympiaregion Seefeld – recharge your batteries in an endless natural paradise

More than any other holiday destination, the Olympiaregion Seefeld promises you that little bit 'extra'. The region's infrastructure is perfect for sporting activities as well as for just relaxing. Recharge your batteries in some fantastic natural surroundings!

The five distinctive resorts – Leutasch, Mösern/Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz and Seefeld – are ready and waiting for you. The south-facing, sunny high plateau on 1200m captivates immediately, thanks to its fantastic position surrounded and protected by the picturesque peaks of the Wetterstein range, the Hohe Munde, the Alpenpark Karwendel and the Wildmoos conservation area. The incomparable location has an additional plus point too when it comes to getting here: the 5 resorts are very easy to reach. There are international train connections with Intercity links direct to Seefeld, Innsbruck Airport is around a 25 minute drive and even Munich International Airport is also relatively close (around 1½ hrs. by car) as a possible option. Once in the region itself (which incidentally you can reach 'vignette'-free via Garmisch-Mittenwald), you can happily leave your car parked: a convenient regional bus system connects all the resorts and there's a specially priced holiday ticket available.

Summer in the Olympiaregion Seefeld means having a good time out and about in the mountains

Hikers and climbers, mountain bikers and golfers, Nordic walking enthusiasts and joggers – there's something in the Olympiaregion for all those who want to enjoy the fantastic outdoors by doing some sport. Over 650 kilometres of marked walking paths, 200 kilometres of approved forest roads and trails for mountain bikers, 2 golf courses (18 and 9 holes) and 30 marked  running and Nordic walking routes over 266 km provide an open invitation to get out and recharge your batteries in the fabulous mountain air. Attractions such as the Leutasch Gorge, the Peace Bell in Mösern, the fields of larch around Reith, the Alpenpark Karwendel in Scharnitz, the 'Seekirchl' symbol of Seefeld, the Seefeld Wildsee lake and the Wildmoos conservation area around Seefeld are just a few of the highlights not to be missed while on holiday.

But even those who prefer a more gentle summer in the mountains are well catered for in the region: 2 indoor swimming pool centres with outdoor pools and large sun-bathing areas, the Seefeld lake with 2 bathing areas and other natural lakes – some periodic – will satisfy any water babies. Countless restaurants and cafés are ready and waiting to take you on a culinary adventure – or have a seat on a sunny terrace and indulge in some people-watching e.g. in the lively Seefeld pedestrian zone. And in the evening why not try your luck in the Seefeld Casino...

A summer full of events

The icing on the cake is the variety of events taking place in the region: as well as many local customs such as the country fairs or 'Almabtrieb' (bringing the cows home in autumn), the 'Blumencorso' (flower festival known far and wide), the Tyrolean handicraft fair in Seefeld and the new Karwendelmarsch (hiking event) with its starting point in Scharnitz.

Hosts with tradition and passion

Whether you're looking to find comfort in a 4 or 5 star hotel or in a friendly B & B or in an apartment or if you'd like to spend your holiday in a farm-house or on a camp-site for a change – the Olympiaregion Seefeld has something for everyone. And one thing is for sure: all 5 resorts have a long tradition in looking after guests and the attention to detail which makes a holiday unforgettable is everywhere.
