Take a historical journey through time and through the Karwendel mountain range: Boasting a wealth of unique exhibits showcasing the fascination of the Alpenpark nature reserve, lovers of the Karwendel can visit the exhibition every day in the foyer of the tourist information office in Seefeld. The Karwendel Exhibition is divided into four areas. The area entitled “Karwendel – Then and Now” offers a fascinating insight into times gone by including old mountaineering equipment, tools, boots and other pieces of mountaineering paraphernalia. The comparison between then and now is truly striking. The second area is entitled “Karwendel and the Seefeld Mountain Rescue.” Old books, pieces of clothing from the 1950s along with medals from the legendary “Karwendelmarsch” and “Ganghoferlauf” races are also on show. In the third sector the Seefeld Mountain Rescue is exhibiting stretchers and rescue equipment made by screwing skis together. Rounding off the historic Karwendel exhibition are photographs and books lent by the Karwendel expert and “ambassador” Heinz Zak. Visitors can view both modern-day exhibits and long-forgotten pieces here in this exhibition organised by H. Strasser every day until autumn 2014.
