Bee Nature Trail / Reith
The Reith Bee Nature Trail gives us an exciting insight into the mysterious life of honey bees.

We already discover interesting facts on the community life of these small ’honey suppliers’ at the first station (from Reith toward Seefeld), the Kneipp facility St. Florian in Reith, which offers us refreshment on hot summer days. Leaving here, we take a gentle walk along a clear forest path towards Niederbach and the Ichthyol factory, the last station of the bee nature trail. This path is also perfectly suitable for baby buggies.
By the time we reach the end of the trail, we pass a total of nine stations that provide information on bees. There are benches on the way where we can rest and enjoy the wonderful countryside.
Shortly before we reach the Niederbach, we visit the highlight of the walk – Austria’s first ‘Bee Hotel’. It offers a practical, real-life insight into the populated hives with individual housing for various types of bees.

It is possible to request tours by a genuine beekeeper by contacting the Information Office in Reith (Tel.: +43 (0) 50 880-30). He will explain the special characteristics of the various bee types by use of teaching boards and bee-keeping equipment. Among other things, it is possible to observe the colourful life in the bee hotel through a glass window.
The whole family is guaranteed to learn some exciting new things about nature!
