The aims of the villages Leutasch, Mösern/Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz and Seefeld of the Olympiaregion Seefeld are high, very high ideed. Within a few years, this area, which hosted the Nordic competitions at the Winter Olympics in 1964 and 1976, wants to become the best cross-country skiing centre in the world. The preconditions for success in this ambitious plan are very good.
The region is already considered to be the Mecca of cross-country skiing with regards to difficulty levels. Almost all of the elite skiers in the world have trained and competed at one of the most beautiful high plateaus in the Alps. Many national teams come here regularly.
