Route description:
The route from Weidach/Leutasch to the Brunschkopf viewing platform is particularly picturesque. There are some car parking spaces at the band stand in Leutasch or you can choose to use the regional bus service and save yourself a few minutes walk, as well as the cost of the park ticket.
From the starting point at the band stand (‘Kreithkapelle‘ bus stop), walk along the pavement on the main road heading for Seefeld, then turn right towards the Kreithalm/Katzenkopf (chairlift). Go right, past the Kreithalm and after a short stretch along the road, take the forest path marked ‘Fludertal‘ and follow the signs for Brunschkopf and/or the wooden Mental-Power-Trail signposts.
Tip: there are particular spots along the Mental-Power-Trail where you can sit and unwind and recoup your inner strength. Some even have descriptions of specific exercises you can do to relax the mind.
Once you have hiked through the Fludertal, the trees of the Kaserwald open out onto the picturesque clearing of the Wildmoos plateau where you can enjoy some refreshments on the Wildmoosalm sun terrace. To the left of the Wildmoosalm, trail no. 63 - signposted Brunschkopf - continues uphill, branching off steeply to the right shortly afterwards (trail no. 62 – signposted for Brunschkopf). There are some steps on the last few metres to get to the Brunschkopf viewing platform. The fabulous crystal-clear mountain panorama is best viewed through the top-class Swarovski telescope there.
Tip: there are various paths down from the platform that allow you to enjoy a circular walk instead of simply returning the same way (look out for the different resorts on the signposts). You will always come across signs for the Rundwanderweg um den Brunschkopf which you can use as reference markers to get back to your starting point.
