Route: Mühlberg car park (P4) - Mühlberg
This winter hike with a great view on the Mühlberg near Scharnitz is considered a little frequented insider tip. This may be due to the lack of refreshment facilities, but the beautiful hiking trail downhill offers one of the most spectacular natural toboggan runs in the region. If you want, you can take your toboggan with you on the ascent - always watch out for other tobogganists on the way!
The hike starts not far from the toboggan run at the (paid) car park at Mühlberg (P4) near Scharnitz. From here you walk along the railway line in the direction of Gießenbach until the ascent to the Mühlberg begins on the left-hand side. Follow the trail to the former lift station and enjoy the picturesque view over Scharnitz and the snow-covered mountains. From there on, the trail can only be walked with snowshoes to the summit plateau (1,318 m).
The two-kilometre-long, scenic natural toboggan run not only covers around 200 metres in altitude with an average gradient of 12.6%, but also includes some racy curves along the way. So you should definitely be sure of your footing here - unless, of course, you are walking
