Summer time is festival time! For nine years now the Days of Music festival in the Olympiaregion Seefeld has been bringing together world class artists and award-winning young musicians from around the globe and treating audiences to unforgettable musical performances. What started in 2009 as a small-scale event under the direction of internationally renowned virtuoso violinist Rudens Turku has grown over the years to become a not-to-be-missed event for distinguished musicians, students of various instruments and music enthusiasts from all over the world. In 2017, between 5th and 24th August, the Days of Music festival in the Olympiaregion Seefeld will, once again, be offering a repertoire of summer concerts featuring numerous renowned artists and young award-winning musicians. The CD ‘Souvenirs: Musiktage mit Rudens Turku & Friends’, which was nominated for the German Record Critics’ Award immediately after its release in 2016, offers a superb taste of these top quality chamber concerts. The reputation of the music festival has spread far beyond the regional borders and this year audiences can listen to, among other artists, the Echo award winner Milana Cherniawska and the winner of the 2016 International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition Veriko Tchumburidze. As every year, promoting the talents of budding young musicians plays an important role during the festival. In the early years of the festival the students came, primarily, from the surrounding area. Today, however, young, up-and-coming musicians from all over the world come to Seefeld to learn from experienced artists, perfect their playing technique and perform together with renowned professionals. The Days of Music programme offers audiences a chance to listen to the ‘stars of tomorrow’. And, not just to listen to them perform, but to meet them and talk with them. Music brings people together. Come and be a part of this memorable event and select your preferred performances from the superbly varied programme. Make sure you book your tickets in good time!
