NATURE WATCH is waiting for YOU!
Join us on a journey through the local history of the utilisation of wood. In the 19th century the timber felled in the Karwendel massif was driven down the river to Scharnitz where it was processed. This nature hike takes us through the fascinating Gleirschklamm gorge (there is currently an alternative route, as the gorge is closed until the beginning of August for repair work) and on to the Oberbrunnalm mountain hut, where we can rest and enjoy a bite to eat, before we continue through the "Kreidegraben" back to Scharnitz. Our tour ends with a visit to the ‘Holzerhütte’ museum of logging.
Good, sturdy footwear and waterproof clothing are a must! Ensure you have plenty to drink with you. The guided nature hike is conducted in German. When: 9.15 am. Duration: approx. 8 hrs. (actual walking time: 7 hrs.). Meeting point: Länd car park / Info Centre, Scharnitz. Registration: by Tuesday, 5.00 pm • with your host or in any of the information offices. Max. no. of participants: 20. Participation exclusive and free of charge after booking the programme item on your valid Olympiaregion Seefeld Card (guest card).
The Gorge is closed for repair at the moment, the guide will do an alternative walk.
