Climbing in the Olympiaregion Seefeld

Olympic flair in the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains

Climbing enthusiasts can indulge their passion in the Olympiaregion Seefeld thanks to numerous via ferratas and climbing crags of various lengths and levels of difficulty. The region’s villages, the two of Scharnitz and Leutasch, in particular, offer a paradise for climbing fans. From easy climbing tours suitable for the whole family, to sport climbing for experts, a world of climbing fun is guaranteed. The exceptionally wide range of climbing opportunities in the Tyrolean mountains attracts beginners and top climbing athletes alike.

The so-called ‘Chinese Wall’ in Leutasch, which boasts more than 200 climbing routes with fixed anchors, offers not only spectacular views, but also challenging climbs. From summer 2016 the Olympiaregion Seefeld will be a member of the ‘Climber Paradise’ project. The aim of this concept is to enhance the quality of the climbing infrastructure by implementing appropriate quality standards and by consolidating climbing data.

With the founding of the new Alpine Club group ‘Mauerfix’, the Austrian Alpine Club has agreed to take care of the maintenance and upkeep of the region’s climbing crags. Should you have any ideas, suggestions or wishes, simply send us an email!
