IML 3 Day Unicorn March
The 24th Int. 3 Day Unicorn March will take place from 13. to 15. September 2024 in the Region Seefeld. You can find all relevant information about the event here.
The Region Seefeld with its five villages Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith and Scharnitz attracts hikers from all over the world. The special location on a high plateau at over 1.200 m and the approximately 650 kilometers of hiking and mountain trails transform the region into a true hiking Mecca. Surrounded by the impressive Wetterstein Mountains, the Karwendel Nature Park and the Wildmoos Landscape Conservation Area, the high plateau, which is open to the south, is the perfect base camp for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. In the middle of the idyllic Leutasch valley a worldwide tradition and a jointly organized hiking highlight is reflected: the 24th 3 Day Unicorn March. With start and finish in Leutasch, the march leads along the most beautiful places of the region. Unique landscape experiences, cozy refreshment stops and warm hosts make this worldwide phenomenon an unforgettable highlight, where fun and team spirit are paramount.

IML-Awards
Since the Unicorn March is part of the IML - Walking Association, IML awards can also be earned by all participants. Every participant can get an International Walking Passport after his first IML march and can get the bronze medal.
There must be 3 different stamps on each side of the passport, this makes a series. The scoring is as follows:
- 1 March: bronze medal > 1st to 3rd series: digits 1 to 3
- 4 series: silver medal > 5th and 6th series: number 5 and 6
- 7 series: gold medal > 8th and 9th series: digits 8 and 9
- 10 series: gold medal with laurel > from series 11 the respective digit
- 25 series: medal in blue/gold
- 50 series: medal in blue/gold with laurel on ribbon
At the event it is also possible to obtain a country clasp, in bronze, silver or gold, depending on the level of the IML medal achieved so far.
Those who have participated in the events of the eight founding countries of the IML will receive the clip "International Master Walker". The founding countries are: Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, Austria and Japan.
Whoever has completed any 8 countries in the Europe region gets the "European Walker", after 8 countries in the Pan Pacific region there is the "Pan-Pacific Walker". These 3 clips are each awarded with a corresponding certificate. Those who complete 75% or a maximum of 10 walks in each region are eligible for the "
In order to receive the IML stamp for the Unicorn March, at least the 20 km distance must be hiked on all 3 days per day! Hikers who have reached the age of 70 can also hike only 10 km per day to receive the IMl rating. For further exceptions, please refer to the statutes of IML.
IVV information
Member of the Austrian Volkssportverband in the IVV. The event is evaluated for the International Volkssportabzeichen. The IVV hiking stamp can only be awarded if:
- the participant presents the IVV identification card in person
- the participant has filled in the IVV identification card completely
Registrations for each individual day possible daily from 6 am at the IVV stand in the Wettersteinhalle. Price: € 7,- per day, incl. charging stations and certificate.
