SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption & Production" focuses on the use of natural resources. The fight against food waste and rubbish build-up is linked to a desire to create awareness and encourage responsible consumption, as well as sustainable tourism – as per SDG 8. In this regard, we have our projects for better use of resources, regional products and minimising rubbish.
We want our future events to be as environmentally-friendly as possible, so visitors will take home memories of a fabulous – rubbish-free – experience.

We have been promoting local manufacturers since the beginning of 2021 through our "Real Plateau Product" line, available in the information offices and in some hotels. Since the beginning of 2022, we now also have the "Plateau Breakfast" - the first official award for a regional breakfast in Tyrol (see Downloads). This aims to promote local direct traders, authentic fare and shorter delivery routes.

The #CleanUpPlateau-Challenge is the Tourist Board’s annual appeal to help with regional spring-cleaning. This activity raises awareness for the region, and why it is worth protecting, and also helps get rid of several tons of rubbish.

We have top-quality drinking water, enriched with minerals from the rocks over the years, and we want to bring it to the tables and save on lengthy transportation routes for mineral water.

Paper production accounts for the felling of every second tree worldwide and this is badly affecting some irreplaceable ancient woodlands. Therefore, we only use recycled paper for our printed material, which also requires less water and energy, and we use organic inks free of earth and palm oil. With the specially compiled guidelines (see Downloads), we want to persuade more companies to change to environmentally -friendly printing.
