COVID-19: Checklist & Measures

A really good feeling for sure

Since 1 May the shops in the region have been open again and since 15 May the restaurants have also been pampering their guests in their gardens. In addition, a wide range of leisure facilities are already welcoming their first visitors. On 29 May the accommodation facilities were allowed to open again!

The health and safety of the population, staff and guests is the top priority when the hotels reopen. If we all adhere to a few guidelines, nothing stands in the way of safe hospitality.

5 rules that should always be observed

  • Keep at least 1 meter distance to strangers
  • Do not shake hands or hug
  • Wear mouth-nose protection where it must be worn
  • Wash hands several times a day for at least 30 seconds
  • Sneeze or cough in the crook of your arm or in a handkerchief

FAQ – Frequently asked questions

Border openings to and from Austria?

Austria's external borders are open. When entering Austria from these countries, the previous regulations regarding quarantine or presentation of a Covid-19 test are no longer applicable. Please note that when entering Austria, not only the Austrian regulations are decisive, but also the regulations in the respective home country.  An overview of travel warnings plus entry and exit regulations for Austria's neighbouring countries can be found here

Use of public transport?

Wearing mouth and nose protection is mandatory on public transport. In public transport, the minimum distance of 1 metre applies, but only if it can be maintained. Public transport is back in full operation. The current timetables can be found at VVT or ÖBB.

Events and experiences?

Indoor and outdoor events with up to 100 visitors are possible again. Major events are prohibited until 31 August 2020. The current events & experiences offer in the region can be found here

Sports and leisure facilities?

Leisure facilities, places of interest, swimming pools, etc. can welcome visitors again since 29 May. Here too, the minimum distance must be observed. If possible, make reservations in advance and reduce congestion at entrances and exits. All open facilities in the region can be found here

Overnight stay in mountain huts and alpine pastures?

Shelters and alpine pastures may also welcome overnight guests under the same conditions as lodging establishments - even communal dormitories may be used under strict conditions (minimum distance of 1.5 metres or technical protective measures). Reservation obligation: According to the Austrian Alpine Association, overnight accommodation is allocated without exception with prior reservation. Shops and shopping facilities?

Sports & fashion shops, flower and handicraft shops and boutiques are reopened under observance of all hygiene measures! Here too, it is important to keep a minimum distance. All open shops in the region can be found here

Book accommodation and lodging?

Since 29 May the accommodation facilities have been reopening. It is important to keep the minimum distance here too. Mouth-and-nose protection is recommended for crowds of people. You can find all open accommodations here

Gastronomy and restaurant visits?

Restaurants, inns, pubs and cafés are open again since 15 May. It is important to keep the minimum distance here as well. Book in advance if possible and pay contactless if possible. All open facilities in the region can be found here
