Measures & Regulations

Measures and regulations at a glance

BOOK AND CANCEL SAFELY.
Most of our accommodations offer a special or flexible booking and cancellation policy for the winter season. We also recommend that all our guests consider getting a travel insurance. All bookable accommodations are optionally available including a European travel insurance. This currently covers Covid-19 diseases as well as any other unexpectedly serious illness before and during the stay.

SAFE ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
The region's open plateau can be reached by many routes and is located directly at the German border (toll-free via Mittenwald-Scharnitz or Mittenwald-Leutasch) and only 20 km from Innsbruck. Directions: via Mittenwald-Scharnitz (B2, exit "Scharnitz/Seefeld") / via Innsbruck-Zirler Berg (A12, exit "Zirl Ost") / via Telfs (A12, exit "Telfs Ost").

The Olympiaregion Seefeld guest card is also valid as a ticket for regional transport during your stay. In all public transport, without exception, masks must be worn and if possible a minimum distance must be maintained. In the coming winter, additional ski buses will be used to ensure safety measures.

SAFE WITH SPECIALISTS.
The 5 local communities, the tourist board with its information offices and public facilities, as well as many of our local restaurants and accommodations have specially trained Corona security personnel who ensure that the current safety regulations are implemented and adhered to without exception. They will be happy to answer any questions, clarify any ambiguities or make suggestions.

EXTENSIVE TESTS, SAFE EMPLOYEES.
Our employees from the hotel and catering industry, the information offices and many other sectors are regularly and extensively tested on a voluntary basis. This makes the Olympiaregion Seefeld one of the areas with the most tests in Austria.Trained personnel, strict regulations for restaurant and wellness areas and a strict disinfection concept ensure safety. In the event of acute suspicion of infection, strict local security measures are immediately implemented to trace the most recent chain of contact and to interrupt any spread of infection at an early stage.Guests in the region also have the opportunity to have themselves tested quickly and easily (e.g. in the regional medical practices), not only in case of suspicion, but from now on also at the Skialm-Rosshütte screening station in Seefeld. You will find all the information about this above.

SPECIALIZED DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS:
- University Hospital Innsbruck (25 km)

- Landeskrankenhaus Hall (34 km)

- Hospital Garmisch-Partenkirchen (45 km)

- 5 resident doctors / 3 (house) pharmacies

The offices of Dr. Alois Durnes, Dr. Benedikt Klein, Dr. Andreas Wiseman and Dr. Oswald Heis offer corona and/or antibody tests in the region.

SAFE WITH THE APP.
For easier traceability in the case of infections, we recommend the installation of an anonymous tracking app.  In cooperation with the Austrian Red Cross, the Stop Corona App was developed for this purpose, which immediately informs users of positive test results in the course of contact.

SAFE WITH THE CORONA AMPEL
The four-stage Corona Ampel (Corona traffic lights) was developed by the Austrian Ministry of Health. Depending on the colour, preventive measures are also recommended for the gastronomy, tourism and leisure industries. The current map can be found on the corresponding homepage. There is also a guideline for the various risk levels with corresponding prevention measures in all economic sectors. Further information is also available here.

NO BIG EVENTS.
All planned major events have been cancelled and the existing events will only be carried out by the Tourism Board in accordance with the valid official regulations. The majority of our events take place outdoors, for indoor events appropriate security measures are worked out and displayed at the entrances and exits on site.

NATURE EXPERIENCES WITHOUT RISK - SAFE IN THE MOUNTAINS.
Every guest finds a lot of space and freedom to practice social distancing without any problems. With its open landscape and its extensive mountain valleys the Olympiaregion offers a lot of space to take a deep breath: On average, everybody’s space measures around 3 soccer fields (locals and vacationers counted in).

Furthermore, all tourist offers in the region have been revised and adapted in terms of security to avoid crowds of people and infection clusters. Winter hiking, cross-country skiing and tobogganing are just some of the activities offered on the extensive plateau in the immediate vicinity of the accommodation.

In order to be able to offer every guest his or her own personal "winter adventure" in the Olympiaregion Seefeld, an attractive guest program will be organized in winter 2020/21 as well, which will easily combine individual experience with safety regulations.

SAFE ON THE TRAILS.
About 250 cross-country trail kilometers connect the most beautiful places of the Olympiaregion Seefeld. On the wide cross-country ski trails, the official FIS regulations even prescribe keeping your distance. Protective masks are not necessary outside under the open sky. When entering toilets or changing rooms we recommend wearing a mouth and nose protection (mask, scarf, neckerchief, buff) in order to protect others and to keep the necessary minimum distance. During the winter season, high-quality multifunctional tubular cloths (buffs) can be purchased in all information offices in the Olympiaregion.

Day tickets for the cross-country ski trails are available at numerous sales points and vending machines, so there will be no long queues or waiting times. Cross-country & roller ski season tickets can also be purchased or extended online.

Cross-country skiing courses can be booked online and take place in small groups. Meeting points for groups will be offered at different times and places, guest gatherings will be prevented and professional video technique analyses will be carried out outdoors without exception.

SAFE SKIING INSTEAD OF GONDOLAING AROUND.
Our wide slopes offer enough space for wide carving turns. In addition, almost all kilometers of slopes can be reached by open chair lifts and t-bar lifts! You only have to wear a mouth-and-nose protection when queuing/transporting at lifts, in gondolas and funiculars. Closed lift facilities (funicular, gondolas, etc.) are disinfected several times a day with a 3D-ultrasound cold fogging system. The employees are specially trained to prevent crowds of people, to ensure a quiet operation, to clearly and uniformly communicate with the guests and to intervene in a regulating manner if necessary.

Employees with close customer contact (those who help with the lift entrance) wear a mouth and nose protection. In addition to regular employee testing, the Rosshütte mountain railroads in particular play it safe with daily employee temperature measurements. All children's areas can be reached directly from the car or bus without a lift. Disinfection stations are also available at key points, public sanitary facilities, entrances and exits. Please also observe the prescribed safety distance outdoors! In the coming winter, additional ski buses will be used to ensure safety measures.

In selected ski schools, rental stations and ski lifts, guests receive a free mouth and nose protection when buying a ski ticket, booking a ski course and using the ski rental service. Hotels that offer ski passes exclusively for house guests are also provided with the necessary technical equipment (special printers, screens, disinfectant dispensers).

In addition to all the measures mentioned above, our regional ski schools have been provided with recommendations for action by the Austrian Ski School Association, which contribute to your health safety.

EVERYTHING EXCEPT APRÈS-SKI.
In the Olympiaregion we focus on real nature experiences, we always have. That's why we don't focus on parties, but on a wide range of activities in the fresh air and first-class enjoyment in our excellent restaurants and wellness facilities. Après-ski bars, nightclubs and discotheques will not be found in the Olympiaregion Seefeld.

Numerous huts and restaurants focus on security and exclusivity: Visitor numbers are reduced, the personnel wear mouth and nose protection, the employees are regularly tested. Disinfection, cleanliness and hygiene are very important and also safe contact person management (industry-specific flyers are provided by the tourism federation for this purpose) is of great importance.

SAFE IN THE SAUNA.
Special safety and hygiene measures apply in swimming pools, saunas and wellness areas. There are stricter distance rules and capacity restrictions in the sweat and relaxation rooms. Please follow the respective guidelines on site exactly.

SAFE THROUGH WASTE WATER MONITORING.
In cooperation with the Tyrolean state government and the University of Innsbruck, wastewater tests are also carried out continuously in the Olympiaregion Seefeld, which indicate possible infections with high accuracy. With these regular monitorings, possible unnoticed sources of infection can also be detected early on and effectively combated immediately (according to information from the state of Tyrol on 24.08.2020).
