Living in the Olympiaregion Seefeld: How long have you already been living here or what brought you here? What makes the Olympiaregion so special for you / your family?
The generations are growing! We all grew up in the Olympiaregion Seefeld and so you could say that we were close to our guests from our first days in the cradle.
The Olympiaregion, right in the middle of the Tyrolean Mountains, is and always has been a scenic and culinary highlight. The wide variety in the region means that young and old can find what they are looking for.
Each of our partner-hotels for WSC-athletes in the area is unique: How would you describe the philosophy which brought you to this point and which distinguishes you from other hotels?
We are a traditional and family-run Tyrolean guesthouse with an integrated farm, which mostly provides products for our restaurant. Co-operation is the essence of our house. The pleasant work climate means that every guest is greeted with open arms and a friendly smile. Nothing to stop a relaxed stay in freshly-renovated rooms and culinary highlights which invite you to spoil yourself.
Are there any personal memories of the last FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 that you / your family could share with us? Did this event change or create new ambitions for Nordic ski sport?
We still have great memories of the 1985 World Championships and made some good friends. We did not look after any teams in those days - we had the security personnel as our guests in 1985. Therefore, we are really looking forward to playing host to the athletes for the 2019 World Championships.
What are you looking forward to while hosting the top WSC 2019 athletes in your hotel?
We’re especially looking forward to getting a look at the world of the teams and the individual athletes. Moreover, of course, we are excited about making new acquaintances. We want to try to give the sportsmen and -women an unforgettable time with us and in the Olympiaregion Seefeld so that they can enjoy an ideal preparation for the competition.
Do you have a vision or a personal wish for 2019?
With the slogan, “Hand in Hand” we want to experience this exciting time, which is coming up together as a family. We are looking forward to a fair competition, lots of snow, sunshine, plenty of motivated competitors and fans and a wonderful event. We hope it is unforgettable and that it creates a little bit of history on the plateau.
