Living in the Olympiaregion Seefeld: How long have you already been living here or what brought you here? What makes the Olympiaregion so special for you / your family?
Seefeld is my home – I was born here and after a few years I returned “home” with my husband and my children. Sports lovers such as ourselves couldn’t pick a better place than this sunny plateau: we love skiing, hiking, biking… Our job is our vocation. Above all, we love direct contact with people and our family-run hotel, now in the 3rd generation, is what makes us tick.
Each of our partner-hotels for WSC-athletes in the area is unique: How would you describe the philosophy which brought you to this point and which distinguishes you from other hotels?
We stand for friendliness, tradition, indulgence and hospitality Our enthusiastic commitment helps create a cosy holiday atmosphere for all our “Helga-Friends" and makes their stay unforgettable and special –not least with our insider tips from the family.
Are there any personal memories of the last FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 that you / your family could share with us? Did this event change or create new ambitions for Nordic ski sport?
Winter, 1985: I was working in Lech am Arlberg. I followed the course of the competitions whenever I could with great interest. I grew up in Seefeld and therefore Nordic sports have always been my passion. Winter meant to us: first snow – put on your skis – enjoy your time on the slopes! We all could not even imagine winter without skiing!
What are you looking forward to while hosting the top WSC 2019 athletes in your hotel?
We have been hosting the Norwegian Combination Team in our hotel since 2004. In the meantime, a friendship has developed and whenever there is a competition we get right to work. I know, it is all about “winning” in the case of top athletes but, in my eyes, all athletes participating are winners – the most important thing is taking part!
Do you have a vision or a personal wish for 2019?
I wish all athletes and participants a Championship rich in satisfaction, health, no accidents and fair competition and that “our Seefeld” stays in the public eye and will be remembered forever. We aim to go “hand in hand” into a prosperous future –we look forward to welcoming you!
