Living in the Olympiaregion Seefeld: How long have you already been living here or what brought you here? What makes the Olympiaregion so special for you / your family?
Michael, the head of the household, was born and grew up here. For myself, his wife Leni, I’ve been living in Seefeld since 2004. I was drawn here from the Ausserfern and love – and lovely people – have kept me here.
Each of our partner-hotels for WSC-athletes in the area is unique: How would you describe the philosophy which brought you to this point and which distinguishes you from other hotels?
We are a small family business now in the fourth generation managing the Weinstube. We have always stood for tradition and a hearty welcome. That is our passion, our love.
Are there any personal memories of the last FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 1985 that you / your family could share with us? Did this event change or create new ambitions for Nordic ski sport?
We are too young to remember the Ski World Championships of 1985. Michael was three and I was only one. Of course, we have seen pictures and heard stories from those days. I think Seefeld was as enthusiastically involved in 1985 as it is these days. No wonder - the locals are really passionate people.
What are you looking forward to while hosting the top WSC 2019 athletes in your hotel?
We are simply happy to have the honour to be hosts, whether now, in 2019 or in the future years.
Do you have a vision or a personal wish for 2019?
We are hoping for a fair competition in 2019, plenty of spectators and a superb atmosphere, something that will stay in the mind for long after that our children can tell stories about.
