The beauty of the Olympiaregion Seefeld - LIVE!Webcams
Dear plateau residents and guests,
“Much more than a picture postcard winter”, that’s the verdict so far on the
is special winter season on the Seefeld plateau! And, before the first signs of spring appear, the Olympiaregion offers something fresh each day, whether more active on the superbly-prepared cross-country ski trails, fabulous fun on skis for adults and children, or simply the winter walking trails, which allow you to see the landscape from another perspective.
And, of course, I want to keep you up-to-date with the latest news on the World Championship Railway Station:
The services from the already-finished Platform One have been running to general satisfaction. The ÖBB is now concentrating on the preparation of Platform Two and, with a bit of pressure, the work should be so far advanced by April that work on the supports for the second platform roof can be started. At the same time the second phase of the passenger tunnel will be completed. The work on the interior of the railway station building is advancing at a good pace.
At this point, something to note in your diaries: from mid-June the Karwendelbahn will be closed for four weeks. The ÖBB assures us that a replacement bus service will get everyone where they want to go safely and punctually. During this period there will also be work going on at the level crossings in Seefeld.
The most difficult challenges have been surmounted and from November Seefeld Railway Station will be ready for us, our guests and World Championship spectators.
From the beginning of 2019 the train station will play a major role in the mobility of thousands of spectators expected to visit the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships. The new platform layout, the traffic management around the station, the opening of a barrier-free station towards the village centre and the most modern transfers onto the regional bus system mean that the Olympia plateau reaches new heights when it comes to public transport.
Simply world champion class in all facets!
Enjoy yourselves and have a good journey.
