Scharnitz - Mittenwald (Bavaria) - Scharnitz

In Scharnitz turn left at Gasthof Risserhof to the Isarpromenade, follow it to the right. After an underpass turn left over the Isar bridge and continue in the direction of Riedboden. After the car park P1 turn right to the Isar, or keep left and follow the hiking trail to Mittenwald at the foot of the Arnspitze (MTB signage Arnspitzrunde). Both paths meet again. Then through the Mittenwald meadows to the tennis hall. After the bridge turn left and continue to the main road at the large Isarbrücke/Flößerdenkmal. Here keep left again and continue to Mittenwald/Ortszentrum. Return via the Riedboden hiking trail - or at the bridge/raftsman monument, turn slightly left into the "über die Hoffelder" hiking trail. Here always over meadows, along the railway and through a small forest. Attention: just before Scharnitz you have to cross the railway. Then drive back approx. 50 m in the direction of Mittenwald and turn left again onto the Isar over a small bridge. Keep left after the bridge and continue to Scharnitz. Via the Isar promenade back to the town centre. Attractions: Mittenwald (historical centre), Porta Claudia (ruin) in Scharnitz.
