Route description:
This beautiful bike tour crosses the extensive Region Seefeld along the historic trade axis through the North Tyrolean Alps. The starting point of the tour at the Citizen and Tourism Service Reith is fittingly located directly on the old Roman road to Innsbruck (ancient Roman: Veldidena). Sufficient (paid) parking spaces for motorists are available only a little further at the ICE train station Reith, the arrival by public transport is of course particularly convenient here.
From the village square, the bike tour initially leads along the Römerstraße northward in the direction of Seefeld, but already turns right at the first junction onto the traffic-calmed Reither Waldweg, then crosses the small Schartenbach, makes a turn at the Ichtyolwerk and then follows the course of the road in a right-hand bend to the next large intersection at Hermannstalstraße. Follow this briefly in the direction of Seefeld and then immediately turn left onto the Aulandweg to the edge of the forest. Continue past the small chapel and along the forest path to Wildsee. Follow the Wildsee promenade and at the next junction turn right onto Innsbrucker Straße. Now follow the signs through the village to Seefeld train station, turn left there onto Innsbrucker Straße and continue through Seefeld to the Leutascher Straße intersection. Here turn right in the direction of Leutasch, then follow the road for a while and turn right again at the Triendlsäge junction. Follow the asphalted road to the idyllic Triendlsäge, at the river run at the old sawmill you can take a refreshing Kneipp walk after a delicious rest, before the signposting leads over the Lehenwald and past the Bodenalm to the next road junction after the Grünbödelehütte.
Here you turn right again and follow the asphalt road for a while until, shortly before the main road to Scharnitz, a wide meadow path follows the Gießenbach stream on the left. Continue along the water until the bike tour reaches the Sonnenplatten climbing garden in the town of Scharnitz. At the parish church Maria Hilf in the center you cross the main road again and finally follow the Hinterautalstraße to the end point of the bike tour at the Nature Park Info Center Scharnitz.
