This tour, which is classified as difficult, requires skill and stamina. With a length of 60 kilometres and 1,850 metres of altitude to overcome, it is one of the longest and most difficult stages. It takes you through the contrasting landscape of the Karwendel, which reveals the broad spectrum of the mountain world with its rugged cliffs, lush meadows and green forests.
After the start at the information centre in Scharnitz, you cycle one kilometre into the valley before turning left onto the forest road to the Karwendelhaus. Without forks you now cycle through the Karwendel valley to the Karwendelhaus. It is only a short ascent to the Hochalmsattel. After a descent, one reaches the Kleiner Ahornboden and now drives on well-developed forest roads through the Johannestal towards Hinterriß. Once you have arrived in the Rißtal, cycle towards the valley until you reach the junction to the Plumsjoch. Now it's another good 500 metres up to the Plumsjochhütte. After the stop, a technically difficult descent (single trail Plumsjoch or push track) into the Gerntal and on an asphalted road to Pertisau. After passing through the village, you cycle directly next to Lake Achensee on a cycle path to your destination at the car park in Maurach- Buchau.
