Walk where the eagle flies!
Clearly signposted, well marked and with detailed descriptions – along the Eagle’s Way route, the contours of which resemble an eagle with outstretched wings, hiking enthusiasts can cover no fewer than 23,000 vertical metres along 31 stages covering a total distance of some 280 kilometres. The eagle is known as the king of the skies and symbolises freedom, independence, uniqueness and power. Far, far up in the sky he watches the world from a distance. And precisely this distance and detachment from everyday life, this freedom, can also be enjoyed by those who walk in the mountains of Tyrol – hence, the name of this long-distance walking route through Tyrol.
Further information on the Eagle’s Way complete with detailed route descriptions can be found at tirol.at/adlerweg. In-depth route descriptions of those legs of the trail located in the Region Seefeld area are available in the form of ‘Factsheets’ which, together with GPS Tracks, are available as a free download.
The Adlerweg is the main hiking trail throughout Tyrol. Uniformly signposted, well marked and described in detail, it leads right into the heart of nature. Along the route alone, whose course resembles an eagle with outstretched wings, you can cover around 20,000 metres of ascent in 31 stages.
