Code of conduct in the mountains

For us, your safety and the protection of the environment take top priority. In order to guarantee both, we kindly ask you to adhere to these recommendations for safe and enjoyable hikes in the mountains.

In a nutshell - 10 recommendations for safe hiking in the mountains
put together by the Austrian Alpine Association (de)

  1. Go hiking only if you are physically healthy.
  2. Plan your hikes carefully.
  3. Ensure you are fully and appropriately equipped.
  4. Wear suitable footwear.
  5. Remain alert and surefooted.
  6. Stay on marked trails and paths.
  7. Take regular breaks.
  8. Remember you are responsible for your children and their safety.
  9. Walk in small groups.
  10. Treat the natural surroundings with respect.
