Biathlon is a combined endurance and precision sport with the disciplines shooting and cross-country skiing. The optimal conditions at 1,200 metres above sea level and one of the most modern biathlon facilities in Europe make the Seefeld Olympic Region a sporting Mecca of dual combat.

The biathlon facility built in 2010 in the Nordic Centre Seefeld has 30 small calibre shooting ranges and was used for the 2012 Winter Youth Olympic Games. In addition, 5 shooting ranges for air rifles will be provided. Over 245 kilometres of perfectly groomed cross-country trails of all levels of difficulty lead from the facility through the entire region and offer the best training conditions in a breathtaking natural landscape. Thanks to the "Snowfarming" project, cross-country ski runs can be prepared and made available as early as the beginning of November. The new 3.6 km long roller ski track (outer loop), which can be extended in length and height, offers a summery training of biathlon sports.

The facility is not only used by professional athletes, but also by hobby athletes and guests. Martin Tauber's Cross Country Academy offers the opportunity to book courses and get a taste of the world of biathlon.
