THE IDYLLIC
Katzenkopf Ski Area Leutasch
The varied descents over approximately five kilometers of well-prepared slopes start directly from the chairlift mountain station at the Katzenkopfhütte. With breathtaking views over the Leutasch Valley and the Northern Tyrolean limestone Alps, one enjoys extraordinarily many hours of sunshine here during the day, indulging in Kaiserschmarrn, dumpling specialties, and homemade cakes or warming up in the cozy traditional parlor by the crackling fireplace with a cup of alpine herb tea (with a shot upon request).
In winter, one can also experience the versatile Katzenkopf off the slopes, as there is a varied natural toboggan run – the necessary equipment can be rented at the valley station if needed. Additionally, at the Katzenkopfhütte is the classic entry point for the high trail Leutasch-Wildmoos (B15) and the 22 km long Katzenkopf loop. Those who prefer hiking will also find beautiful winter hiking trails from the summit to Wildmoos, Seefeld, and Mösern.
