Exhibition MICHAEL ZIEGLER - "STILL-LEBEN"
Delicate, almost translucent flowers arranged in a glass or vase are a recurring motif of the Austrian painter Michael Ziegler. In 2020, these watercolor paintings opened up a new approach to painting for him after a long pause. Since then, he has repeatedly taken up the theme and technique. An ongoing series has emerged, which has now grown to several dozen paintings. Starting from “nearly simple compositions” (Ziegler) in bright, matte colors, the painter bestows a subversive power upon his floral works. Complemented by examples from other series of Ziegler’s works, they unfold their effect at KiS - Kunst in Seefeld in the interplay of light and weightlessness, sketchiness and fragility – a “sensory event” for both the painter and the viewers - Rafael Jablonka will showcase works from Michael Ziegler starting December 12 in the Old Fire Hall in Seefeld.
Free admission.
Changing exhibitions of contemporary art at an international level twice a year. Thanks to the gallerist Rafael Jablonka, who lives in Seefeld, this has been possible since mid-2021. The association KiS, established in 2022 to promote contemporary art in Seefeld, ensures an interesting cultural program throughout the year. With concerts, readings, artist talks, and special projects for children
