The Karwendel Nature Park is the largest nature park in Austria and the largest protected area in Tyrol, known for the Great Maple Plain and the Isar spring. The latest expansion now also includes the Arnspitze Nature Reserve around Leutasch. The main focus areas of the nature park include nature conservation, recreation & tourism, environmental education, as well as knowledge & research, but also a colorful program of lectures and excursions at the Nature Park Info Center in Scharnitz is on the agenda!
Programme on 09.07.2026:
The nature garden in front of the Nature Park Information Centre in Scharnitz invites visitors to marvel and explore during the blooming season. Elke Huber will lead a drawing workshop this afternoon, allowing us not only to admire the beautiful alpine flowers but also to draw and paint them under professional guidance. If you have your own pencils, eraser, sketch paper or watercolours, feel free to bring them along. Those who do not yet have any drawing materials can purchase them on site for € 10.00. The course is suitable for everyone, including beginners. Registration required: info@karwendel.org.
Please also note the weekly guided tours Nature Park and Karwendel Gorge,
