whitewater experiences along the Isar
Kayaking & Rafting in the Karwendel, Tyrol | Region Seefeld
Crystal-clear water, untouched river landscapes and an alpine mountain backdrop: in the Karwendel Nature Park, you experience wild water from a unique perspective – gliding quietly by kayak or tackling the rapids by raft. Exploring a mountain river directly from the water is a truly special pleasure.
Alpine Wild River Landscapes in the Karwendel
In the Karwendel Nature Park, the Upper Isar and the Rißbach are among the last largely untouched alpine wild river landscapes. Gravel banks, side channels and the rivers’ natural dynamics shape this sensitive natural environment.
These river landscapes provide habitats for threatened plant and animal species such as the common sandpiper and the gravel bank grasshopper, and in some cases represent the last remaining refuges for these species in the Alpine region.
