The beauty of the Olympiaregion Seefeld - LIVE!
WebcamsThe B 177 road over the Seefeld plateau can look back on a long history. The way it appears now is mostly influenced by the extensive construction work on the Zirlerberg and in Seefeld and Reith which took place between the 1950s and 1970s. There have been plans for a Scharnitz bypass since the end of the 1980s. The steady increase in traffic on the B177 through the centre of the village has meant that the need for a bypass has become ever more pressing. The breaking of ground in autumn 2015 finally signalled the end of the long and varied planning and preparation phase for the project. Once the burden of the building works is over, the village of Scharnitz will experience a lasting reduction in traffic. Only a quarter of the current traffic will travel through the village and, with this reduction, Scharnitz can look forward to a lasting improvement in the quality of life for guests and locals and a fresh outlook for future generations.
