FROM PLAYGROUNDS TO WATER GAMES
1. Through the Leutasch Valley
Highlights: Perfect for a bike trailer, as the route is not too long and easy to ride. There are plenty of fun stops along the way, including an adventure playground, water games by the Ache river, the Kneipp facility & water games at the Salzbach, and the climbing garden Flämenwandl (great for watching).
Places to stop: Gasthaus Brücke with its own playground
Tour: Bike route No. 537 through the Leutasch Valley or the Family Adventure Cycling Path (from Weidach towards Geisterklamm – always follow signs for 537)
WATER FUN, MODERATE ASCENTS & DOUBLE ALM CHOICES
2. To the Tillfussalm & Gaistalalm
Highlights: Particularly trailer-friendly due to moderate ascents and wide paths; ideal for hot days, as the route follows cool waters. Take a refreshing break at the Kneipp facility and enjoy the water games at the Salzbach, with two hut stops as a reward before heading back.
Places to stop: Tillfussalm and Gaistalalm
Tour: Bike tour to the Tillfussalm / Gaistalalm (starting from Leutasch Weidach via bike route No. 537 or from Salzbach parking lot P3-5). An optional detour to Hämmermoosalm is available.
ISAR ADVENTURE & STONE SKIPPING
3. To the Isar spring & Kastenalm
Highlights: Perfect for families, as the tour can be flexibly shortened at any point. Enjoy spectacular stops at the Isar spring for building Stoamandl (stone piles) and stone skipping, the nature adventure playground in Scharnitz, and the fascinating Holzerhütte Museum.
Important note: This tour is long, but it follows the cool waters of the Isar from Scharnitz, making it ideal for plenty of “cheerful breaks” when the little ones in the trailer need a rest.
Places to stop: Kastenalm, Café in der Länd, or Bodenalm (if starting from Seefeld)
Tour: Bike route No. 578 into the Hinterautal (starting from Scharnitz or Seefeld – note that the ride from Seefeld is significantly longer).
SWIMMING FUN, PLAYGROUND ADVENTURES & SUNNY WILDMOOS
4. Around Brunschkopf
Highlights: The perfect sunny, family-friendly alternative in the natural idyll of Wildmoos compared to the classic tours in the cool valleys of Gaistal or Karwendel. Enjoy great stops like the "Nature Pure" adventure playground in Mösern, a refreshing dip in the Möserer See natural swimming lake, and an optional detour to the panoramic viewing platform at Brunschkopf.
Places to stop: Möserer Seestub’n, Lottenseehütte or Wildmoosalm
CLASSIC UPHILL FUN WITH A COSY HUT STOP
5. To the Reitherjoch Alm
Highlights: The perfect choice for those seeking a classic, yet not too strenuous uphill ride. The route offers a lovely mountain experience without extreme inclines, making it suitable for sporty families with a trailer.
