Go where the eagle flies!

Hiking on the Eagle Trail

Uniformly marked, well signposted, and detailed – alone along the main route, which resembles an eagle with its wings spread, one can cover around 30,000 meters in ascent over 33 stages across a length of approximately 426 km. The eagle is the king of the skies and a symbol of freedom, independence, uniqueness, and strength. From way up high, with a great distance, it observes the world. This distance from everyday life, or this freedom, is also gained by the hiker in the Tyrolean mountains, and thus it was chosen as the namesake for this hiking or long-distance trail through Tyrol. The route stretches from Stage 8 to Stage 15 through the Karwendel Nature Park and continues on with Stage 16 through the picturesque Wetterstein Mountain Range.
