EUROLOPPET GANGHOFER RUN
Ganghoferlauf goes green!

Green Event Tirol
GREEN EVENTS TIROL is an initiative by Klimabündnis Tirol and Umwelt Verein Tirol in collaboration with the state of Tyrol to promote an environmentally and socially responsible event culture.
The Ganghoferlauf has been a socially sustainable event for many years, particularly due to the many categories in the children’s and special sections. Last year, steps were taken towards ecological sustainability to gradually transform it into a completely sustainable event.
The event checklist from GREEN EVENTS TIROL serves as the foundation for the Ganghoferlauf Sustainability Concept.
Here is an excerpt of the measures that have been implemented as part of the Green Event award:
- Use of reusable cups and bottles as well as tableware
- Waste separation at all event venues and in all rooms (Information on proper waste separation from the Environmental Association of Tyrol)*
- Optimal waste reduction
- New: More than 50% vegan and vegetarian dishes
- Local suppliers and producers
- Where possible, only regional food products
- Where not possible, Fairtrade and organic quality will be used
- Free water in the Wettersteinhalle
- New: Reusable medals
- Abandonment of single-use plastic
- Refraining from unnecessary goodies that serve purely as advertising materials
- Switching to digital registration and late registration
- Reduction of the majority of printed materials
- Recycled paper and sustainable printer ink for existing print materials
- Recycled napkins and hygiene paper
- Comprehensive information for guests about the measures at the event
- Promotion of travel by public transportation to Leutasch
Accessibility
Everyone is warmly welcome at the Ganghofer Run! Even though it is an event focused on physical movement, impairments should not be a barrier to participation. There is an opportunity for people with disabilities to participate in the Special Ganghoferlauf.
Depending on the severity of a physical disability, it is also possible to participate in the 10 km Fun Race with a skibob, for example. We ask you to contact us in advance! Due to snow conditions or other safety-related reasons, we reserve the right to prohibit participation at short notice or to change to a different distance or route.
Contact and information person for accessibility: Michael Simperl | michael.simperl@seefeld.com | +43 (0)664 / 889 458 47
In addition, we are making the Ganghofer Run accessible and supportive for everyone with the following measures:
- Table reservation at Wettersteinhalle: Tables are available for people with impairments in the front row.
- Assistance: Our team offers to accompany participants to the tables and restrooms upon request.
- Accessibility at starting/finishing point and in the Wettersteinhalle: These locations are accessible.
- Accessible restrooms: There is an accessible toilet located on the ground floor of the Wettersteinhalle.
- Special parking spaces: Upon request, we provide special parking spaces at the start/finish point and at the Wettersteinhalle.
- Additional information: For detailed information and further questions, Michael Simperl is happy to help.
We are proud to announce that with the Ganghoferlauf 2024 we have already received the GREEN EVENTS TIROL Basic award and were able to elevate the event in 2025 to the next level, namely GREEN EVENTS TIROL.
