Chapels
This chapel, a Marian chapel, was built in 1790 and it is the largest chapel in the entire Leutascher Valley. Since the last restoration in 2002, this beautiful chapel, cared for by around 17 families, has become a popular motif for postcards and photographs.
The altar painting of this chapel shows the Mother of God as Maria lmaculata with a crown of stars, the Holy Spirit hovering over a sickle and a snake above Mary. On the altar, to the left, stands a statue of Saint Ignatius and busts of Saint Anthony and Saint Bernard, and to the right, a statue of Saint Aloysius and busts of Saint Bonaventure and Saint Francis. Two columns entwined with grapevines frame the altar.
The ceiling painting depicts the adoration of the shepherds in Bethlehem. Above the entrance door, Mary Imaculata and Saint Anthony are depicted once again. The paintings and the Way of the Cross that adorn the chapel's side walls are by Josef Degenhart. Near the door, one can find a stone baptismal font, on which the year 1790 (17IHS90) is visible.
