Atmospheric Autumn on Tyrol's High Plateau

It tastes particularly good after wandering or biking through the golden shimmering landscape, inhaling the strong scent of autumn with every breath. With 650 kilometers of hiking trails and 570 kilometers of biking routes, there is plenty of variety. It is especially gentle to walk and ride on the golden carpets of larch needles that cover the paths throughout the region. At Gschwandtkopf, one is surrounded by a whole larch forest with its colorful magic. In fog, the paths around our lakes are particularly mysterious and instantly put one in an autumn mood. In contrast, with blue skies, one can dream of summer once more on the King's Tour over Seefelder and Reither Spitze and gaze far into the distance, thanks to the clear autumn air. Those who prefer a cozy experience or are traveling with children can enjoy the views from Scharnitzer Mühlberg, the Friedenglocke, or Brunschkopf, discover the rustic alpine paradise Gaistal, explore the roaring Geisterklamm, or sway on the giant swing/panorama swing at Kaltwassersee on the Rosshütte into the sunset.

When the cheeks have turned red from the cool autumn air and the toes and fingers are slowly becoming chilly, it is time to dive into the warmth of the two adventure pools or the countless wellness areas of our hotels and indulge in infusions, massages, and more. Once warmed up, the shops and cozy restaurants of the vibrant pedestrian zone in Seefeld are calling. During the traditional market days at the beginning of October, there are one or two bargains to be found, and after that, the latest winter trends fill the shop windows, making one crave the magic of early winter, which is already waiting in the wings. When the first atmospheric lights turn on in the evening, the Christmas market, light park, as well as ice skating, tobogganing, and cross-country skiing seem to be within easy reach. Not infrequently, the first white flakes drift from the sky and temporarily cover the colorful autumn world with a layer of icy sparkle, which the next morning evaporates in the warm light of the autumn sun, giving the joyful colors a new shine. Sooner or later, the white splendor will remain on the highest peaks and create a very special panorama that can still be enjoyed leisurely and safely from most of our hiking trails.

Thanks to its altitude of 1,200 meters, autumn on Tyrol's high plateau is rarely gray, but usually colorful with an extra touch of brilliance from the golden autumn sun. To enjoy this, one does not have to travel far. The Seefeld region is centrally located and close to the borders, and is also optimally connected by public transport. Thanks to regular connections from Munich and the regularly running Karwendelbahn between Innsbruck and the region, we can be reached from most European cities with a maximum of one transfer – ideal for spontaneously and comfortably escaping the autumn gray of the metropolis for a short vacation or weekend trip to the colorful mountain world.
