Press Release, March 2020
50th Euroloppet Ganghoferlauf – Skating Competitions

A weekend fully devoted to the anniversary run
After the classic competitions and the Mini Ganghoferlauf already provided exciting moments on Saturday, the skating events followed today on Sunday. In the skating discipline, the field of participants was filled with motivated hobby runners and ambitious professionals. At the end of this impressive racing weekend, the 50th Euroloppet Ganghoferlauf is enjoying around 2,000 participants from near and far.
After heavy snowfall on the night before Sunday, the final anniversary day initially started cloudy. Over time, the clouds cleared, and soon the imposing Hohe Munde – the unmistakable panorama in Leutasch – was visible. More than 1,000 skaters took to the start today and engaged in a hard but simultaneously fair race!
Good snow conditions paid off
Once again, Leutasch more than lived up to its Nordic image. As one of the most snow-sure places in Tyrol, the impressive Leutaschtal did not disappoint its participants. The athletes, particularly the international field of participants, encountered exceptionally good snow and trail conditions during the anniversary race. As a result, the organization of the anniversary race on the original Ganghofer route received enthusiastic feedback from all participants.
Successful collaboration
Thanks to the support of over 200 volunteers and the collaboration between the Ski Club Leutasch and the Seefeld Tourism Association, we were able to welcome around 1,800 starters at Austria's largest folk run, despite official safety regulations and precautionary measures!
