Climbing with that certain something extra

Relaxed climbing with excellent safety on coarse limestone, including a chill area: This is promised by the new climbing garden "Sonnenplatten Scharnitz". Local extreme climber Heinz Zak has renovated the 51 routes from the third to seventh degree of difficulty as well as opened new routes; the community project of the municipality of Scharnitz, the Seefeld Tourism Association, and Heinz Zak was ceremoniously opened on September 6.

What makes a successful climbing day? It certainly starts long before you stand on the rock – starting with ample parking. Also very high on the list for climbers: gripping rock, well-secured routes, and a wide range of difficulty levels, from easy to challenging. Right at the gate of the Karwendel Mountains in Scharnitz, a new climbing garden has been created that meets all these requirements – and even offers a few extra treats. The new "Climbing Garden Scharnitz" was initiated together with climbing pioneer and local Heinz Zak.

The Climbing Garden: Everything taken into account
Extreme climber, filmmaker, and photographer Heinz Zak has renovated the old routes of the climbing garden in recent months and brought them up to the latest safety standards. Thanks to numerous new routes, there are now over 51 sports climbing routes waiting for rock-hungry climbers in the coarse-rough Wetterstein limestone, rated III to VII in difficulty. In particular, the easier routes are perfectly secured, making them suitable for families and beginners. Those arriving by car will find plenty of parking spaces close to the climbing garden. For shared picnic breaks, there is also a spacious chill area with tables, benches, slacklines, and a well with drinking water. Additionally, there is a modern sanitation facility on site.
