Free ride to vacation happiness

Starting June 1st, travel to Tyrol's high plateau by train & bus for free. The Seefeld region will cover the train and Flixbus travel costs for its guests. During their stay, visitors can travel for free from A to B using the guest card called "PlateauCard". Who needs a car?

The Seefeld region is launching a completely innovative mobility initiative on June 1, 2023: Guests who travel sustainably by train or Flixbus will have their travel costs reimbursed by the tourism board. Yes, you read that right! Seefeld vacationers can get reimbursed for their travel costs up to 150 euros per person (children up to 15 years: 75 euros), provided they book at least five nights, either online at www.seefeld.com or directly at the accommodation. Travel costs will be reimbursed for vacations from June 1 to November 30 – bookings can also be made beforehand – until the budget of 60,000 euros is exhausted.

Elias Walser, managing director of the Seefeld region tourism board, sees the campaign as a positive step towards greater sustainability: "We want to incentivize our guests to leave their cars at home and travel to our region by bus & train. Coupled with a longer stay, this can demonstrate potential for CO2 savings and make an important contribution to greater sustainability."

With the "PlateauCard," guests can travel for free on public transport in the Seefeld region
The nature paradise Seefeld is enticing visitors away from cars and towards trains and long-distance buses. And how will transportation around Seefeld work? Naturally, with public transport! This is made possible by the new PlateauCard. This new mobility guarantee, in credit card format, serves as a ticket for public transport in the region during the stay. Simply show the PlateauCard on all regional buses or the regional train (on the Seefeld-Scharnitz route) and travel for free.

Tyrol's high plateau will be even better connected by public transport from July 9th
Thanks to the new mobility concept, the entire Seefeld region will be perfectly connected starting July 9th. Then, four bus lines and the train will connect all five towns of the holiday region as well as Mittenwald and Telfs, 365 days a year. In summer and winter, two additional lines to Wildmoos and Gaistal will be added, as well as ski buses. All public transport services will meet at the central train and bus terminal in Seefeld and will be optimally coordinated in terms of timing.
