Ganghofer Trail Leutasch 2026

How quickly they grow up! Born as a summer counterpart to the Ganghoferlauf, this trail event in the beautiful Leutaschtal is already celebrating its 18th birthday this year.

The premise remains the same as in winter: enjoyment of nature, athletic challenges, and an amazing running experience for everyone. From the 250-meter Bambino Trail to the "Leutascher Half Marathon," every running fan can find the right route here.

Fortunately for participants, it doesn't matter which option is chosen: Leutasch always impresses. All distances lead along paved hiking paths through the valley. Sometimes you pass through lush green forests and colorful meadows, and at other times, you are accompanied by the Leutascher Ache. The Weidachsee and the surrounding mountain peaks make the routes a truly special experience.

Volkslauf: 7.4 km with 90 m elevation – This run offers the opportunity for both runners and Nordic walkers to participate.

Genuss Trail: 14.4 km with 190 m elevation – A 14 km journey through the nature of Leutasch, simply to enjoy.

Ganghofer Trail: 21.8 km with 280 m elevation – the legendary Leutasch Half Marathon.

Kinderläufe: 250 m Bambino Trail, 700 m Mini Trail, 1,000 m Children’s Trail, 2,000 m Junior Trail – there’s a suitable distance for every child here.


Start times: At 08:00 AM the collection of race numbers opens in the Wettersteinhalle. From 10:00 AM the youngest participants will start, at 10:45 AM the Genuss and Ganghofer Trail begins. At 11:00 AM the Volkslauf will start, marking the last discipline of the day.

The start/finish area is located at the Wettersteinhalle, where after the race, all participants are warmly invited to the Pasta Party and Award Ceremony. For the youngest ones, this year there is again a special highlight: The ASVÖ offers all children a fantastic program of games and sports.

All participants will receive a well-filled starter package at the pickup of their starting number. This includes, among other things, a voucher for a 2-hour entry at the Alpenbad Leutasch and after-race refreshments.
