Bern/Seefeld, April 2021 – The Seefeld region in the Tyrolean Alps boasts an impressive natural backdrop between the Wetterstein Mountains and the Karwendel. Long-distance hiking on high trails
The still relatively unknown Gaistal lures with a variety of typical local alpine pastures and cabins, fine culinary options, impressive peaks, and beautiful distant views. Depending on fitness level, weather, and mood, the high alpine hike in Gaistal can be shortened or extended. The most beautiful route starts in Leutasch, ascending through the picturesque Puittal to the Gehrenspitze, followed by a stop or an overnight stay at the Wangalm or Wettersteinhütte. On the same or the next day, the hike continues over the Scharnitz saddle and the South Wall Trail to the Rotmoosalm. Here, you can also stay overnight in a rustic setting or descend directly to the Tillfussalm and Gaistalalm via the Steinerne Hüttl. All the alpine pastures welcome you with the warm hospitality of the hosts and the best culinary offerings – not only is the Kaiserschmarrn at the Wettersteinhütte and the homemade dumplings at the Rotmoosalm well known beyond the borders. For those who want to relax their tired legs after such an intensive long-distance hike, a soothing Kneipp facility awaits right at the entrance of Gaistal.

Wide selection for bikers
The Seefeld region offers bikers a comprehensive range of routes. These routes vary not only in difficulty but also in distance. They are designed to be interconnected and to include the well-known spots in the region. For the summer season of 2021, a varied, family- and beginner-friendly new bike park is being developed at the Leutascher Katzenkopf with three different single trails, an uphill trail, and a pump track. All certified single trails were developed by experienced trail teams. Through intensive planning and close coordination with authorities, local communities, and environmental representatives, a sustainable usage concept with high compatibility for forests, wildlife, and the environment was created in the Katzenkopf bike park.

Hikes along the water
A refreshing dip in the cool water is especially enjoyable after a hike. If you're longing for lakes, rushing streams, or adventure pools, the Seefeld region is the perfect destination – it offers water spots with a special touch. The Wildsee attracts sun seekers and water lovers with two beach areas and a Kneipp facility. The Kneipp basins by the shore are freely accessible and invite visitors to linger on one of the benches and take in the surrounding nature. Or the beautiful natural lakes Wildmoos and Lottensee: Every year, the meadows on the Wildmoos plateau fill with water in spring, creating these two natural lakes. In recent years, this enchanting natural phenomenon has been admired in its full watery splendor again. A visit at the beginning of the bathing season is particularly recommended, when the lakes are especially large.

Quick and easy to reach
The Seefeld region includes the five towns of Seefeld, Leutasch, Mösern, Reith, and Scharnitz. All are located on the sunny high plateau and are ideal for varied holidays in nature. The Seefeld region is also quickly and easily accessible from Switzerland, whether by train or car.
