News from the Bikepark Katzenkopf Leutasch

Leutasch, March 10, 2021 – After more than a year of planning and preparation, the construction of new bike trails at Katzenkopf Leutasch began at the beginning of October. Four diverse trails for MTB beginners and experienced pros are set to be completed by summer 2021.

Currently still hidden deep in the snow at Leutascher Katzenkopf, they are already waiting to be finished – the first official bike trails in the Seefeld region. All three trails start conveniently using the 3-seater chairlift with bike transport at the mountain station near the Katzenkopfhütte. Bikers can also pedal their way to the start via the forest road and the new uphill trail.

The bike park starts with the green, very easy trail, which provides an opportunity for beginners to get a taste of trail biking. The blue trail, also rather easy, will feature approximately 2.3 km of flow, small jumps, technical elements, and natural sections. Beginners can practice their technical skills here, while advanced riders will also have fun. For those who enjoy jumps and speed mixed with rugged, natural sections, a 2.1 km long red trail is being created. Additionally, the first uphill trail in the region will also be constructed in the new bike park – instead of on the gravel road, (E-)bikers can excitingly and variegatedly ride up from the middle of the mountain to the Katzenkopfhütte.

The biking offer is rounded off with a new pump track and practice area at the valley station – with a magnificent view of the Leutascher mountains and all the important infrastructures from equipment rental to the bike school on site.

A handful of kids, families, and advanced bikers (such as local downhill talent Kilian Schnöller) were able to test the first jumps and sections in advance last autumn – the video shows an initial glimpse of the bike park Katzenkopf Leutasch.

The bike park Katzenkopf Leutasch will open for the summer season 2021.

SUMMARY BIKEPARK KATZENKOPF LEUTASCH
GREEN TRAIL | approx. 0.6 km – A very easy flat path for MTB beginners, leisure bikers, and kids. From the mountain station at Katzenkopfhütte to the intersection towards Wildmoosalm.

BLUE TRAIL | approx. 2.1 km – A flow trail with curves, small tables, rollers, and easy natural sections. Easily accessible for beginners, and also offers plenty of fun for advanced riders from the mountain to the valley station.

RED TRAIL | approx. 2.2 km – A mix of jump line, natural single trail as well as wooden and stone elements. For rather advanced bikers from the mountain to the valley station.

UPHILL TRAIL | approx. 0.95 km – Designed for exciting uphill riding, the path starts in the middle of the mountain and ends at the mountain station at the Katzenkopfhütte.

PRACTICE PARK WITH PUMP TRACKS – Above the valley station, a bike practice area is being built with selected trail elements on two pump tracks for beginners and advanced riders.

INFRASTRUCTURES
The biking school Katzenkopf Leutasch offers various courses and also shows the versatility of the region on guided tours. Guests can take an E-bike trial course, expertly guided, and make their first bike park rounds, or deepen their skills in the “Jump & Speed” course. Of course, there are special courses for all kids, as well as for families. Camps like the “Tyrolean Action Children's Summer” are also offered. In the bike shop, you'll find the necessary equipment for the perfect start in the bike park. The cozy Katzenkopfhütte is also looking forward to impressing bike kids, families, and friends with the stunning view from the expanded sun terrace, delicious snacks, and their charming service!
