22 years of Seefeld Crafts Festival!
For the 22nd time, the Seefeld business community organizes the event "Old Crafts Tirol". Like every year, artisans gather in Seefeld on the second weekend of September, keeping alive the old craft traditions and thrilling visitors who get to watch the "old masters of their craft" at work up close. The organizing team has spent over half a year preparing, and we can reveal one thing: it will be a very special and unique celebration – again this year, we have over 800 folk costume wearers "in hand".

The most valuable asset of humanity lies in craftsmanship
This year, over 1500 women and men (craftspeople, musicians, choirs, folk dance groups, tractor drivers, etc.) will shape this unique festival in the entire pedestrian zone and showcase their traditional craftsmanship at over 100 stalls – distributed across open spaces. They come from North, South, and East Tyrol, as well as neighboring Salzburg, Carinthia, Vorarlberg, and Bavaria. The event – in addition to a large farmers' market – holds a very high status in the Seefeld tourism year. The organizers make a very careful selection, thus creating the basis for this unmistakable festival with its very special character.

Rare professions showcase their handiwork in Seefeld's pedestrian zone
Basket weavers, saddlers, violin makers, felt makers, hat makers, blacksmiths, coopers, cartwrights, potters, scissor grinders, sign painters, textile printers, goldsmiths, chip cutters, sculptors, knife and cutlery makers, gold embroiders, quill embroiders, engravers, lace makers, lathe workers, glassblowers, tanners, carpenters, engravers, mask carvers, fence builders, sheep shearers, and larch oil burners, to name just a few. The bakeries from South Tyrol will showcase the journey of rye grain from field to oven under the motto "From Grain to Bread." The bread dough made on-site will be processed into "Breatln, Vinschgerlen & Co" and baked in a wood oven. The smell of bread invites you to linger and taste. There will also be rare and nearly extinct crafts presented, such as monastery crafts, as well as artisanal skills that were once carried out on farms, such as processing sheep wool and flax, drilling pine wood for water pipes, and even a rip saw will be set up, scythe sharpening, wood splitting for fences, etc. The path to the chapter hall, featuring its special exhibition on the theme "Everything about Tracht (folk costumes)", offers greater insights into almost forgotten but tangible craftsmanship in recent years.

Folk and brass music, as well as specialties from Grandma's kitchen
Not only craftsmanship has its fixed place on these two days, but authentic folk music will also be played in a very fine and genuine way at 9 different locations in the pedestrian zone. Many fans of brass music can look forward to the brass band "Simmerinka" from Haiming (on both days) at the music pavilion. Traditional delicacies from grandma's kitchen will be offered at special stalls. TIP: Try "Kiachln" and Zillertal dumplings.

Historical tractor parade
The program highlight on Saturday is the tractor parade at 1:00 PM, accompanied by the Scharnitz music band. The oldest tractors date back to 1939. Some historical working equipment will also be present, such as the impressive first mowing bar from the Seefeld plateau. Rarities include a stationary grain mill, a hay fork, and a potato harvester. A musical conclusion on Saturday will be provided by the Reith choir, which will accompany the evening service at the Parish Church of Saint Oswald in Seefeld.

...and it will rock tremendously – spectacular folk costume parade
The absolute highlight on Sunday is the unique folk costume parade at 1:00 PM with over 800 participants from North and South Tyrol. This will be accompanied by the Seefeld community band, the Patsch music band, and the Scharnitz music band. The root band Wahlen from South Tyrol will also be part of it – the roots are searched for in the forest, dried at home, and then transformed into various instruments. The parade will conclude with the association "Lord of Wheels" on their nostalgic high wheels.
