in the alpine paradise Gaistal
mountain farming
Softly the cowbells ring over extensive alpine meadows, as the animals indulge in countless mountain herbs. They are gentle, peaceful beings that prefer to spend the summer months in the mountains. Here they are far away from the hustle and bustle in the valley, enjoying the tranquility and peace of the Alps high above. Experienced mother animals show their playful young the juiciest grasses and know the tastiest mountain springs. They stroll leisurely together through the meadows and forests until the herdsman calls them to rest for the night.
The melodic ringing of the cowbells was recorded in the Gaistal, deep in the heart of the Wetterstein mountains. Here stand some of the oldest active mountain farms in the region, surrounded by lush fragrant meadows and ancient forests. From afar, the bright bells can be heard singing: they catch in the echo of the rocks, mingle in the rush of the mountain streams, and carry far in the cool alpine wind. A homely greeting that welcomes weary hikers and lingers long in the heart at farewell.
