2X3 QUESTIONS TO

Elias Walser has been the managing director of the Seefeld Tourism Board since June 2016. The native of Mieming came to us from Ramsau am Dachstein and brought a young, fresh wind to the region. Since then, a lot has happened. Here, he provides a brief insight into what he considers to be the biggest milestones and challenges, what the future holds, and what is personally closest to his heart in the region.

1) What milestones from the past ten years are you particularly proud of?

I am proud that we have managed to implement generational projects alongside our daily business: the efficient snowmaking of the trails, the regional bus concept, the FIS Nordic Ski World Championships 2019, as well as the renovation of all offices and construction yards were major projects that were planned for a long time and that we were able to complete successfully.

2) What was the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge was certainly the solution of the World Cup sponsorship contract, which kept us busy for many years. In the end, all partners achieved a tactical and legal masterpiece. If we had not succeeded, many partners would now be in court against each other.

3) What are the next big goals?

Our most important future topics are the preservation of our world-class cross-country skiing offerings, the continuous care and development of the vibrant pedestrian zone in Seefeld, as well as our hiking offerings and, brand new, the development of a forward-looking mountain bike concept complete with a trail center, bike playground, and much more. We are looking forward to shaping the future of the region thanks to the support of our members and businesses.

the plateau (I grew up on the Mieming Plateau, put down roots at the Hochplateau Ramsau am Dachstein, and now I get to live with my family on Tyrol's high plateau – it's just perfect.)
