tobbogan run Hoher Sattel

The toboggan run on the Hoher Sattel is a challenging insider tip for sporty and experienced person: the two and a half kilometers to the highest point of the toboggan run cover a sporty 385 meters in altitude and then lead back down to the valley at a correspondingly rapid pace with an average gradient of 14 %.

The ascent starts directly from the parking lot in Ahrn eastwards and leads signposted further through the saddle valley. After about an hour's hike you reach the highest point of the tour at 1,495 meters. There are no refreshment facilities but you can enjoy your own prepared picnic in the idyllic winter silence before you finally race down with the toboggan.

Depending on the snow conditions the descent can be very icy in on the way but overall demand can already be well estimated during the ascent. Braking and cornering technique must still be good on the steep sections and with children it is better to use the more family friendly routes (e.g. Gaistal). The natural toboggan run is not prepared/checked daily, ascent and descent are on the same route - us at your own risk.
