This beautiful natural toboggan run at Rauthhütte also overcomes a considerable altitude difference of 420 meters on a challenging route of about three kilometers.
The ascent is easily accessible from the parking lot Rauthhütte in the district of Moos, well signposted and leads with about one hour walking time over some quite challenging passages to the cozy - and extraordinarily delicious - Rauthhütte (1605 m).
Here you warm yourself in one of the two traditional Ofenstuben by the crackling fireplace and be spoiled by the hosts with excellent Tyrolean home cooking and other delicious delicacies (with Gault Millau award). From the cozy sun terrace you can look far over the Inn Valley on clear days you can see the Zugspitze mountain in the north and even the Zillertal glacier peaks in the south.
For particularly convivial evenings, the Rauthhütte also has plenty of overnight accommodation ready with a 3-course evening menu and a rich alpine breakfast the next morning (reservation requested).

Facts about the toboggan run:
Be sure to check the condition of the toboggan run directly with the Rauthhütte hut in advance.
The ascent is on the same path as the descent - therefore watch out for oncoming traffic in both directions (especially in the swithbacks)! Suitable shoes and weatherproof clothing are required, a helmet is highly recommended. The demands and condition of the toboggan run are best assessed by yourself uphill - if you are unsure, be sure to turn back! The toboggan run is not technically secured and is not prepared or checked daily.
Caution: Even for experienced tobogganists this toboggan run is a challenge. Therefore we recommend the descent only for experts. Drive carefully and adapted to the conditions. Especially braking and cornering technique must be safe in the deep sections. Family trips, beginners and children are recommended to use the toboggan run at Katzenkopf - on the opposite side of the valley. Use at your own risk.
