3 kilometre bee trail

Hike through the world of wild and honey bees

The new and modernised bee nature trail stretches for almost three kilometres along the Reither Waldweg and takes you on a journey into the fascinating world of wild and honey bees as well as the diverse beneficial insects of the forest via a total of ten stations and display boards.

In addition to native wild bees, rare insects and beneficial insects, the Reither Bee Nature Trail also explains the history and challenges of conventional beekeeping in a visual way. In doing so, the family- and child-friendly theme trail strives for a holistic view of the common habitats and teaches a sustainable overall concept for the preservation of natural biodiversity.

As part of the regional experience programme, the Seefeld Beekeepers' Association also offers regular themed tours of the bee trail for all ages. All dates, more information and registration options for the exciting bee hike can be found HERE.

The design and implementation of the new Reither Bee Trail was realised as a joint regional project with the help of the tourism association of the Region Seefeld, the Seefeld Beekeepers' Association, the University of Innsbruck, the responsible environmental authorities and the willing support of countless regional businesses.

Food procurement and nest building determine the daily work of the bees. In good weather, you can watch them at work on the lush alpine meadows around Seefeld. But you can also support the little beneficial insects in your garden. The instructions for building your own bee hotel are available here – with expert guidance from Ferdi's apiary in Mösern.
