Hiking and Enjoying

The Leutasch Farm Shop Round

There are 30 regional producers on the Tyrolean high plateau, 19 of whom are in the Leutasch Valley. Nine of them line the newly initiated farm shop round. This brings local products and their producers into the spotlight and gives real appreciation for the work that goes into them.

The idea for the farm shop round originated as part of our sustainability program. Its goal is to highlight regional producers and their products, raising awareness among guests and locals about the work of our farmers. Because this work is primarily one thing: sustainable, and it encompasses all three levels: ecological, economic, and social.

Little effort – much effect

The effort for the project was low and also meets the criteria for sustainability. We used two existing offerings - the hiking trails and the farm shops of our producers - and created an attractive themed trail from these. No new infrastructure needed to be created. The concept, its graphic and textual preparation, as well as a few digital and analog marketing measures were sufficient.

Nonetheless, the project meets several objectives. Firstly, the farm shop round provides a platform for our agriculture and thereby contributes to its value creation. Although the focus of the hike is on the nine farm shops along the route, it also raises general awareness for regional commerce in Tyrol's high plateau. We also support this in marketing, whether through placement in press releases, with the Tuesday market, or the sales offers in our information offices.

Authentic Encounters

The farm shop tour further meets the guests' desire for authentic experiences. More and more people are seeking the real, unpretentious life and experiences on site during their vacation. Not only are the products from the farm shops genuine. The direct encounter with the farmers, their work, and the animals on the farms authentically, openly, and frankly shows how life and work are carried out in the region, and how the directly marketed products are created.

Of course, the culinary arts are at the center of the farm shops, but decorative and wellness products made from natural products such as larch, honey, hay, and herbs are also offered and cater to every visitor. The hike is also manageable for everyone. On the Leutascher valley paths, stroller-friendly and mostly flat, the approximately 11.5 kilometers are easy and pleasant to walk and can be interrupted at any time or divided into several stages. Here, the circle closes to the successful model of enjoyable hiking.

Extensively marketed

The farm shop round was actively promoted in Germany by our press agency Hansmann PR. In May, a great article appeared in the Tirolerin. In March, we presented it at the press & community event of the Austria Advertising Agency in Zurich (Switzerland). Furthermore, it was featured on our social media channels and uploaded to the press portal of Tirol Werbung. The TW is also including it in their summer advertising campaigns.
