First planned investments in the tourist infrastructure are starting
The starting signal has been given!
At the general assembly in December, the increase of the residency fee was approved to enable investments in the region's infrastructure. Now the implementation of the first plans has begun.
In the last supervisory board meeting, the necessary resolutions were made, and now it’s time to get started. Tyrol's high plateau will focus on three main themes as well as initiate some smaller projects in the coming weeks and months. In winter, the focus will be on maintaining and optimizing our excellent cross-country skiing infrastructure. In summer, we aim to create new incentives for our defined target group "families seeking relaxation" as well as launch a bike project package. Furthermore, a new traffic concept between Mittenwald, Scharnitz, and Leutasch is being considered, and a design advisory board will be convened for the best possible use of the Seefeld Kurpark.
Ensuring quality in cross-country skiing
The maintenance of the high quality of our cross-country skiing infrastructure is one of the most important building blocks for the success of tourism in the region. Therefore, further investments in snowmaking and securing the snow guarantee are planned. These will affect both cross-country skiing centers – Seefeld and Leutasch.
New Incentives in Biking
In spring, the concrete planning for the bike package began. This includes a bike playground with a pump track as well as a trail center in the vicinity of Arena365. A mountain bike trail is planned along the ski trail body towards Wildmoos. It is being developed as part of the qualitative improvement of the entire cycling network in the region.
We want to use the ski trail structures wherever possible to largely separate hiking and cycling.

This increases safety and enjoyment for both sports. "But don’t worry, we will not create new bike paths on flowering meadows." The responsible development of the region as well as the preservation of biodiversity are on the agenda for all planning.
Biking for Everyone
Trail center, pump track, and bike playground cater to our two target groups "demanding travel fans" and "families seeking relaxation". Advanced cyclists will enjoy it just as much as both big and small beginners who are making their first attempts on two wheels.
As in many other areas, Tirol's high plateau is primarily a pleasure region for biking, where the focus is not on athletic performances but on experiencing nature together in a relaxed way. This is also reflected in our latest offering of "Family tours suitable for bike trailers". These tours are characterized by wide, well-maintained, and safe paths, a relatively short duration, and family-friendly dining and play options.
In the Seefeld region, particularly routes in Leutasch, Gaistal, Wildmoos, and the Karwendel valleys fall into this category. As a first step, five tours are being promoted and specially highlighted on the website: the family experience bike path through the Leutaschtal, the tours to Tillfuss-, Gaistal- or Hämmermoosalm, the routes through Hinterautal to Kastenalm, and those from Reith to Reitherjoch Alm, as well as the round tour from Mösern over Wildmoos around Brunschkopf.
Bike study trip
To clarify our bike projects, Elias Walser, Joachim Pölzl, Kathi Emslander, and the TVB board recently went on a study trip to Switzerland. They visited the Swiss Bike Park Oberried and the Trailcenter Thusis, two publicly accessible bike parks in the Bernese Mittelland and Graubünden, and gained insights into their concepts, trail layouts, and additional services such as workshops, dining, and events.
In Thusis, they also met mountain biking star Nino Schurter, who has founded the company GOAT Trails along with his partners since 2025. Together, they discussed ideas on how the Seefelder Trailcenter and the planned bike playground could take shape.
Speaking of family
Play opportunities and playgrounds are always a basic need for families. To meet as many wishes as possible, in addition to the bike playground at the Arena365, two more large premium play parks will be created in Seefeld and Leutasch. Both will be located in close proximity to the swimming pools and are expected to grow further over the years. Operations in Seefeld will already start in the summer of 2026, in Leutasch in 2027.
Play Park Seekirchl
Many have surely noticed the construction work between the swimming pool and Seekirchl. The new Play Park Seekirchl is currently being built here. It is intended to be a meeting point for young and old, for exercising, sports, and playing. As you can see on the plan, the play park includes a multi-sports court with a fenced soccer and basketball court, two padel courts, and a zip line for adventure fans. The younger ones will have a great time at the Seefeld lettering playground. The balance elements along the promenade and the cozy lounging areas will appeal to everyone.
The play park is the first major project made possible by the increase in the occupancy tax. More are to come. Just keep an eye out while walking or take a look at our webcams from the comfort of your home!
For guests and locals
Whether games elements will also find a place in the Kurpark Seefeld will be decided in the future. A design advisory board consisting of TVB, the municipality of Seefeld, and the Tyrol state is currently developing ideas on how the nearly 5,000 m² can be used in the best possible way. The needs and desires of guests as well as locals of all ages should be taken into account.
The focus is also on guests and locals in the new transportation concept between Mittenwald, Scharnitz, and Leutasch. The better public transport connections and accessibility of Scharnitz and Leutasch are at the center of this initiative. Of course, our Bavarian neighbors also need to be involved. Initial talks indicate a positive development.
Arena for Everyone
In winter, competitive sports often have Arena365 firmly in their grip. The open ski trails for everyone, the guest biathlon, and the offered ski jump tours are first steps towards broader benefits for all.
In the summer, this open concept will be further promoted. The guest biathlon will continue. Additionally, the ski jump will be made publicly accessible during fixed daytime hours. The soccer field will also be available for not only professional teams but also hobby players and children.
Furthermore, 2026 is focused on a LEADER project for a roller track. This will be developed into a barrier-free track for various rolling sports. The goal is to make the previously mono-functional training infrastructure accessible to new target groups through a time-controlled usage system as well as barrier-free information and guidance systems – particularly for children and young people, people with disabilities, parasports athletes, and other supervised sports and movement formats.
