#CleanUpPlateau Challenge

Spring has long arrived at the Seefeld sun plateau, and the region is blooming in a rich display of colors. With the melting of the last snowfields, the spring sun also reveals what the winter months had hidden under sparkling flakes: tissues, drinking bottles, snack wrappers, and other litter.

This was an opportunity that the Seefeld tourism association and the towns of the Seefeld region took to initiate a large-scale cleaning action.

From April 27th to 30th, the region united under the motto of the voluntary #CleanUpPlateau Challenge. Complying with the official safety regulations, countless volunteers, local representatives, municipal councils, and the tourism association collected a total of over 2 tons of waste in four days. Each of the 203 participants who returned at least five kilos of litter to the designated collection points received a gastronomy voucher for food and drink at one of the businesses in the region. A sad record was set by a family that collected 51 kg of waste alone.

We wish the challenge had been more difficult – but it reminds us of what is truly important: to treat nature with the respect it deserves. After the successful cleaning action, the sun plateau now shines (again) in all its unique beauty and looks forward to welcoming nature lovers, gastronomic guests, and recreational athletes again soon.
