Press Release – Craft Festival 2026

When the Nostalgia Express arrives in Seefeld again on September 12th, the clocks will be set back. Back to a time when traditional crafts could be found everywhere and what we now call historical was a normal part of everyday life. The vintage tractor parade, the folk costume procession, and countless craftsmen will transport Seefeld to an era where some things were more complicated and many were simpler.

The best thing about the crafts festival: You can experience it from countless different angles. You can dive deep into the history of various professions, visit each individual booth, or simply let yourself be swept away by the numerous impressive impressions. Here you will find a small overview of what your weekend at the crafts festival could look like.

It all starts with the arrival: At around 11:30 am, the Nostalgia Express arrives in Seefeld, taking its passengers back to another time in style. Afterward, the farmers' market awaits at the village square with regional delicacies. At 1:00 pm, it gets loud: During the historic tractor parade, numerous vintage tractors rumble through Seefeld. Some of the vehicles have been making history since 1939 or even longer. Today, they get to show once more what they are made of.

After that, it gets quieter, but not less exciting. South Tyrolean bakers demonstrate how bread is made from rye grain - from the field to the oven. All around, various craftsmen provide insights into their work: Violin makers, gold stitchers, and many other skilled artisans showcase techniques, tools, and hand movements that are no longer part of everyday life today. At 6:00 pm, there will be an evening service at St. Oswald's Church, musically framed and serving as a cozy conclusion to the first day of the festival.

After the fair at 10:15 AM, the craft festival picks up speed again. In Seefeld, there will be hammering, turning, weaving, and tatting. Hat makers, basket weavers, turners, and many other craftsmen showcase their skills and bring old techniques back to life.

At 1:00 PM, it will get really colorful: Approximately 800 participants will parade through the pedestrian zone of Seefeld in the grand folk costume parade. Trachten clubs and groups from the region will bring Tyrolean tradition to the streets. The subsequent collective dance will continue the celebration, of course. And because a festive day should have a proper conclusion, the Seefeld Plattler will provide music and dance in the village center from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM for a fitting finale.
