Stay relaxed and wait for relaxations

When travel is allowed again in the summer, the Seefeld region is the first address just behind the Bavarian-Tyrolean border. The sun terrace above Innsbruck, nestled between the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains, is enticing visitors in the summer of 2021 with renowned top quality and plenty of new attractions.

Since vaccination appointments have become more important than vacation planning, the holiday period has lost some of its carefree nature. Is the virus going to let me go on vacation or not? Budget airlines and cruises might not be the best idea this summer – but a vacation just across the border is. The first "holiday exit" on the way to the south is Seefeld in Tyrol. The region between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Innsbruck offers various advantages for a carefree summer vacation – guaranteed without any nagging feelings.

Short distances to holiday happiness
The average feature film lasts about 100 minutes. That's how long the journey from Munich to Seefeld takes. Relaxed on the Garmisch motorway, then passing by Mittenwald with scenic views, and traveling toll-free and without border checks to Seefeld, the western gateway to the Karwendel.

Those who prioritize environmental protection and deep relaxation – and records – should take the train. Seefeld boasts the highest ICE train station in the Alps, located at an elevation of 1,180 meters above sea level. The journey from Berlin takes just 6:40 hours. This way, the summer vacation in the mountains begins right at the home platform.

Real vacation quality cannot be replaced by anything else. Only by top vacation quality
In summer: hiking, biking, and golfing. In winter: cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and tobogganing. The Seefeld region has always prided itself on high-quality active vacations. The southern balcony high above Innsbruck and the Tyrolean Inn Valley always enjoys an extra portion of sunshine. Thus, the summer season on the open plateau starts much earlier than in many constricted mountain valleys – namely at the beginning of May – and lasts until late in the "Golden November." In between, the Seefeld hosts are looking forward to welcoming their guests from neighboring Germany – from charming bed and breakfasts to 5-Star Superior hotels. Typical of Tyrol: All hosts are very accommodating regarding booking and cancellation procedures. Anyone who books in Tyrolean neighborly fashion can be sure that their vacation in 2021 will be wonderful.

The Seefeld summer fairy tale 2021: one vacation, a thousand opportunities
The prime location of Seefeld is the perfect playground for active vacationers. Where, in the dream winter of 2019, the cross-country skiing world elite crowned their world champions, trail runners and Nordic walkers find their world-class arena in the dream summer: a staggering 266 kilometers of trails! Hikers and mountain climbers can rejoice over 650 kilometers. Here at Seekirchl in the west of Seefeld, the most beautiful biking tours towards the sunny side of the Wetterstein, Mieminger chain, and Karwendel start and end – whether with or without electric support. Looking for even more action? At Katzenkopf, there’s a brand-new bike park. And at Seefelder Spitze, there’s a new climbing route. The Wildsee with its two beach baths is practically in the village center. And for those who want to swing a golf club, the two golf clubs Seefeld Reith and Seefeld-Wildmoos offer two fantastic courses.

Really enough cooking on my own!
It’s time to hand over the cooking spoon to others (who are trained!) and to let yourself be pampered culinarily outside your own four walls. From exclusive star-rated restaurants to specialty venues and the true, traditional Tyrolean cuisine, a wide culinary range is offered in the Seefeld region for connoisseurs and gourmets. A hot tip for fans of vegan diets is the Naturhotel "Aufatmen" in Leutasch. This summer, the Chilean chef Viviana Patricia Valdivia Vera will implement her creative ideas here. There’s a delightful array of choices at "Taste of Seefeld." This innovative alliance of four lifestyle and event venues – ZOMM at Meilerhof, Woods, Paulys, and the Bräukeller at Klosterbräu – sends guests on a culinary journey around the world in the heart of the region.
Those looking to combine culinary delights with mountain joy will find true hospitality and gastronomic peak experiences at the over 30 mountain huts around the Seefeld plateau. Highly recommended: the Nördlinger Hütte with its spectacular location, variety of activities, and delicious food. The Gault Millau-awarded Rauthhütte. And the Tillfussalm, with the best products from its own alpine cattle.
